Who can attend?

  • Anyone who is finishing Year 12 in a State School in Oxfordshire and hoping to go to university eventually.
  • You do not have to be applying to Oxbridge but if you are, advice & introductions will be offered.

What does it cost?

  • Most of the cost is covered by sponsorship. However, students contribute too. The amount varies each year depending on the level of sponsorship but is usually between &pound75 & &pound100 for the week. A hardship fund exists to help those with financial difficulties (apply in confidence to your teacher representative) so no-one need to be left out.

How do I apply?

  • Each school has a teacher representative on the organising committee. Find out who is responsible at your school and give him/her your name immediately.
  • You must act quickly because places are restricted at the college.
  • You will be asked to produce a piece of work (story, poem, article, essay, drawing or music - it's your choice) on the Conference theme. The themes are very broad and you can approach them in any way you wish. Your piece must be finished by May half term so that it can be published in an Anthology of student work which you will be given at the start of the Conference.
