How is it different from other Year 12 Conferences?

  • This Conference is not an A Level cramming course. Academic activities centre around a Conference theme.
  • Students are treated as adults & students of the College.
  • Students do no writing during the week but will be given short extracts to read in preparation for teaching sessions.
  • Students have a Tutorial, a lecture and a Seminar each day.
  • They are taught by resident staff and university dons.
  • They are encouraged to talk: to air and share their ideas, not to compete.
  • It will widen your horizons by introducing you to new fields of study.
  • It aims to extend your knowledge and intellectual skills, to help you think independently and to organise spare time profitably.
  • It gives you advice on university applications.
  • It mixes work with pleasure: there are social activities and you have free time.
